Karol graduated from Cambridge in 2014, during which time he held both choral and organ scholarships at Queens' College and Emmanuel URC respectively. At university, Karol's passion for music and conducting grew, and he gained experience directing some of the many college and university student orchestras and choirs. Since leaving university, Karol has had the opportunity to study with a number of leading conductors and tutors in the UK and Europe, including Denise Ham, Dominic Grier, Amy Bebbington and Peter Broadbent.
Soon after graduating, Karol was appointed Director of Music at St Clement's Church, Cambridge, where he has worked hard to foster and encourage a lively and successful musical life at this city-centre church. The church now boasts a well-regarded choir, alongside a resident chamber orchestra which Karol also directs, and a popular recital series throughout term time. Karol has enjoyed the challenge of developing a musical culture and community at St Clement's, and constantly challenging and developing the choir to new heights.
Outside of St Clement's, Karol directs the Wren Choir in Cambridge. This auditioned choir is made up of ex-choral scholars and singers residing in Cambridge, frequently singing at college and university events and ceremonies outside of term time. Karol has previously also directed the Orlando Singers and Erasmus Chamber Choir in Cambridge.
